A 2022 survey asked U.S. consumers if they agreed with certain statements regarding their pets and the economy. Over three-quarters of respondents stated that their pets helped to reduce stress and improve their well-being. However, 16 percent agreed with the statement, "I may have to give up my pet due to the economic climate".
