Based on a survey conducted in 2021, most South African internet users accessing the internet via their smartphones were aged 25-34 years. That year, almost 30.2 percent of the users were in the age group. Moreover, individuals between 15 and 24 years followed with a share of 25 percent.

The question was: "How do you access the internet?".
The data is weighted to the South African national statistics service, "Statistics South Africa's" population estimates, which allow for an accurate representation of 27.76 million South Africans.
To ensure a nationally representative sample, the survey is based on enumerated area (EA) sampling.
