In 2021, Children's hospitals in China received more than 62 million patient visits, after being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Although more children's hospitals were commissioned in the last decade, such hospitals remained operating at full capacity, with more than 90 percent of beds constantly occupied, and pediatricians working under excessive pressure to meet the demands of the patients.
