The Philippines was the country with the biggest deal size of belt and road initiative (BRI) construction projects, amounting to over three billion U.S. dollars in 2022. The transactions for BRI construction projects in Serbia, Algeria, and Iraq also had a value of over a billion U.S. dollars. The BRI is a strategy developed by the Chinese government with the aim of improving the connectivity of other regions with the Asian country.
