In 2021, when asked about their purchase intentions, 84 percent of Portuguese car buyers stated they wanted to buy a hybrid or electric vehicle. More specifically, 40 percent of respondents would buy a hybrid vehicle and 44 percent would choose an electric vehicle. At the same time, 16 percent of respondents preferred a vehilce with a petrol or diesel engine.
