In 2022, there were about 351,000 people from non-EU countries working in Germany. 89,000 were working with an EU Blue Card. The EU Blue Card is for highly qualified and experienced workers who do not come from EU countries. It provides the holder with comprehensive socio-economic rights and allows for the possibility of obtaining EU citizenship in the future.
