A survey from August 2022 found that more streaming media player users in the U.S. searched for or selected content on the respective home screen than smart TV viewers. In comparison, 52 percent of smart TV consumers go directly to their apps to select content, while the share of streaming media player users who search in their apps amounted to 48 percent.
