According to a survey of parents conducted in March 2020 and April 2021 in the United States, the share of respondents monitoring the online content accessed by their children on websites and mobile apps increased to 84 percent in 2021, compared to 78 percent in 2020. Additionally, in 2021, fewer parents appeared to be keen on removing their children's smartphone and internet privileges as a punishment compared to 2020, as well as limiting their screen interactions.
