Danone Russia revenue 2013-2023

Danone Russia JSC, a subsidiary of the French company Danone, earned over 91 billion Russian rubles in 2023. The revenue decreased by roughly two percent compared to the previous year.

Danone's key brands on the Russian fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market include Activia, Actimel, Alpro, Danissimo, Danone, and Rastishka in the dairy industry, Evian in the bottled water segment, and Malyutka and Nutrilon in the baby food market. Danone Group was the major milk processing company in Russia. Furthermore, it was the ninth-largest foreign advertiser, having spent around three billion Russian rubles on marketing activities in the country in 2021.

Danone's exit from Russia

In October 2022, Danone Group announced that it would sell its Russian business. The company expected a potential write-off of up to one billion euros as a result of the market exit. Already in March 2022, Danone suspended investment in Russia, and in April 2022, it halted deliveries of Evian and Alpro products. Russia was among the leading 10 markets of Danone. In 2023, the country accounted for four percent of total net sales; in the first nine months of 2022, that share was reported by the company at five percent.
