In May 2022, an online survey in the United States found that around nine out of ten respondents aged between 18 and 34 years had a YouTube account. Similarly, 88 percent of the respondents aged between 35 and 44 years were registered on the popular social video platform YouTube. Registered users appeared to decline among older age groups, with only 66 percent of respondents aged between 45 and 64, as well as 46 percent of respondents aged 65 years and over reporting having a YouTube account.
