In 2023, the mining and quarrying industry in Malaysia contributed to 8.6 percent of the country's gross domestic products (GDP), a decrease from 9.9 percent the year before. From 2019 to 2020, the mining and quarrying industry's share to the GDP decreased from 8.7 percent to 6.8 percent.
