The United States imported approximately 92,100 metric tons of scrap plastic in the first quarter of 2023, an increase of about three percent from the previous quarter. Scrap plastic imports to the U.S plummeted in the second quarter of 2020, but shipments recovered in the following quarters, reaching roughly 109,000 metric tons by the third quarter of 2021.
