From 2002/2003 to 2008/2009, the number of births in Montréal, in the Canadian province of Québec, increased at a relatively steady rate for both sexes. Since then, this number has fluctuated, but overall decreased, especially between 2019 and 2021. In 2019/2020, 23,129 males and 21,726 females were born, and the following year there were only 21,705 male babies and 20,384 female babies born.
