According to a survey on elections in the Philippines in 2022, approximately 52 percent of respondents stated that the rise of fake news was the main issue of the Philippines' electoral system. This was followed by 49 percent of respondents who perceived vote buying as a leading issue of the country's electoral system. Vote buying is a strategy used by political parties to gain support before an election by offering money or other rewards to voters.
