With more children's hospitals being opened in China, the number of pediatricians working in children's hospitals in the country also increased substantially in recent years. In 2021, more than 22,000 doctors and assistant doctors were practicing in children's hospitals. In 2019, the 141 children's hospitals in China received more than 67 million patient visits, before being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
