As of 2022, mid-band 5G is projected to be the most relevant 5G spectrum for all but one of the four main use cases that 5G will enable - i.e., enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), fixed wireless access (FWA), ultra-reliable, low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive Internet of Things (MIoT). Since URLLC calls for higher capacity though less coverage, high bands are best suited for its applications such as factory floors. The other use cases, however, require wide coverage and thus low or mid-bands for, e.g., smart cities.
