In a survey conducted in Japan in September 2019, the majority of respondents stated that having casual sex is not justifiable. Around 46.3 percent of the respondents thought that casual sex was never justifiable, as opposed to 2.2 percent who stated that it was always justifiable. On a scale of one to ten, the mean score was 2.67.
