In 2023, the sales value of domestically produced goods at large-scale wholesalers in Japan reached almost 90 trillion Japanese yen. That year, large wholesales generated more than 151 trillion Japanese yen in sales, of which domestically produced products accounted for the majority.

Large-scale wholesalers include wholesale establishments for general commodities with 100 or more employees, and wholesale establishments with 200 or more employees designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Figures refer to the sales of goods purchased from trading companies, manufacturers, etc., and sold in Japan. Including domestic sales of goods manufactured by the wholesaler itself.
