In an online survey completed in 2022 in Portugal, 73 percent of respondents said that they used a car as a means of transportation. About 12 percent used public transportation, and another 12 percent walked for self-displacement. Only three percent of the respondents used a bicycle or scooter as a way of transportation.

This online survey was answered by a universe of 78 percent women and 28 percent men.
As for the ages of the respondents: 44 percent are between 35-44 years old, 25 percent between 25-34 years old, 25 percent between 45-54 years old, 3 percent between 18-24 years old, and the remaining 3 percent corresponds to >55 years.
66 percent of these respondents are from Lisbon area, 20 percent from Porto area and the remaining percentage is distributed throughout the country.
