In an online survey completed in 2022 in Portugal, 80 percent of respondents preferred to buy environmentally friendly products rather than slightly cheaper products. More than 50 percent of Portuguese consumers preferred to buy environmentally friendly products on a monthly basis. Furthermore, 86 percent of the respondents separated their waste.
Consumer behaviors about environmental concerns in Portugal in 2022
This online survey was answered by a universe of 78 percent women and 28 percent men.
As for the ages of the respondents: 44 percent are between 35-44 years old, 25 percent between 25-34 years old, 25 percent between 45-54 years old, 3 percent between 18-24 years old, and the remaining 3 percent corresponds to >55 years.
66 percent of these respondents are from Lisbon area, 20 percent from Porto area and the remaining percentage is distributed throughout the country.
