During a 2022 survey, 55 percent of participants from the United States disagreed that female athletes were paid fairly in sports. Looking at the gender disaggregated data, 43 percent of male respondents did not believe women were paid fairly compared to their male counterparts, whereas 70 percent of female respondents held the same opinion.
