According to an August 2022 report, loyalty to a sports team regardless of the team's results was especially strong amongst individuals aged 55 years and older in the United States. Specifically, 92 percent of survey participants aged 55 years and older claimed to stay loyal to their team even in the face of defeat., whereas just 68 percent of respondents aged between 18 and 24 were of the same opinion.
