The need for hydrogen storage in Europe was estimated at some 72 terawatt hours by 2030. Germany is expected to display the highest need in the region, at roughly 16 terawatt hours. Italy and France's needs ranked second and third respectively, each at just over eight terawatt hours. By 2050, hydrogen storage need in Europe is expected to surpass 450 terawatt hours.
