In 2021, the majority of the respondents to a survey conducted in Russia were in favor of the expansion of the nuclear power industry. Around 23 percent of the respondents voted to maintain the current state of development. Since 2018, over 70 percent of respondents have supported the use of nuclear power in Russia. In comparison, the share of respondents who were against nuclear power has averaged roughly 16 percent since 2018.

In 2020, the survey was conducted from 14 to 28 February for 3,951 Russian citizens aged 18 and older. In 2019, it was conducted from 7 to 20 February for a sample of 3,985 Russian citizens aged 18 and older. In 2018, it was conducted from 8 to 21 February for a sample of 4,003 people aged 18 and older.
