In 2023, around 23.5 million tons of oxygen steel were produced in Germany. In short, oxygen or oxygen conversion steelmaking uses pure oxygen on molten iron. Electrical steel, meanwhile, is commonly produced in strips rolled while cold, which are used in transformers and electric motors, for example.
