Among Asia-Pacific countries, Malaysia was considered the most likely to implement a carbon price (covering at least the power sector) by 2026, according to a survey of International Emissions Trading Association members. While around four percent of respondents felt a carbon price in Malaysia would be implemented by 2024, some 40 percent expected one to be implemented by 2026. India was the second most likely country to implement a carbon price by 2026, according to 28 percent of respondents. In comparison, 21 percent of respondents didn't expect coverage in Bangladesh.

The question was originally phrased as "When do you expect the following countries and regions to implement a carbon price (covering at least the power sector), if at all?"
