Between July 2021 and July 2022, food and drink apps on the Google Play Store experienced an increase in their in-app purchase prices of approximately 50 percent year-over-year, becoming the category with the largest price increase among Android apps hosted by the platform. Beauty apps ranked second, with an increase in prices of approximately 47 percent, while events apps experienced an increase of their prices of around 39 percent year-over-year. Overall, app prices on the Google Play Store experienced smaller increases compared to those seen by iOS users in the United States on the Apple App Store.
