In early April 2022, 92 percent of Canadians believed that Canada should try to change its constitution in order to cut ties with the monarchy, even if this is difficult. This opinion was particularly popular among those who did not vote in the 2021 federal election (98 percent), and among Bloc Quebecois voters. The latter were also overwhelmingly inclined to think that Canada should no longer be a constitutional monarchy for generations to come.
