According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2022, around 46 percent of platform workers stated that they were covered by employment insurance. This represents a significant increase from the previous, when only about 29 percent of workers were insured.

Platform workers here refer to individuals whose work is open to many people, whose wages are paid via the platform, and who work on platforms where customer satisfaction influences their work assignments, such as delivery drivers of food apps.
