During a 2022 survey carried out in Brazil, nearly one-fifth (19 percent) of respondents chose politics as their favorite podcast genre. Variety and daily news followed, mentioned by 11 and nine percent of the interviewees, respectively. According to the same study, obtaining information was the main reason for Brazilians to listen to podcasts that year.
