The United States exported just over 10 million metric tons of paper and paperboard in 2022, and imported 8.7 million metric tons. Imports of paper and paperboard had been higher than exports, but in 2010 they dropped below exports. By weight, the most exported paper and paperboard type by the U.S. is case materials.
