In March 2021, online retail sales of furniture, lighting, and household articles peaked in Great Britain, reaching approximately 505 million British pounds. This represents more than double the sales figures recorded in March 2020 and 2019, when furniture e-commerce sales were around 211 million and 178 million pounds, respectively.

In Great Britain, online retail sales of furniture witnessed unprecedented growth between 2019 and 2020, as government-imposed lockdowns made home offices the new normal. By 2021, the furniture e-commerce market in Britain generated nearly four billion British pounds in sales, up from 477 million pounds only a decade earlier.

While Amazon was the leading online store in terms of furniture e-commerce revenues, the UK's very own Argos was the leading homeware website by share of voice in the second quarter of 2022.
