By the end of April 2023, more than 80 percent of China's ski resorts had a vertical slope of less than 100 meters. A total of 105 resorts in China had a vertical slope between 100 and 300 meters, accounting for 15.06 percent of all ski sites. Resorts with a vertical slope over 300 meters make up 4.73 percent of all sites.

For the winter sport sector, a fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30; for example, fiscal year 2016/17 starts on May 1, 2016 and ends on April 30, 2017.
