In 2022, approximately 777 thousand individuals were treated in mental health wards in hospitals in Italy. This statistic shows the distribution of such patients according to their education level. A considerable share of patients never graduated from high school. Almost one quarter of them held a middle school diploma, while almost 23 percent had no educational qualification or an elementary school diploma at most.
