The number of ski resorts increased significantly in China in the past few years, as winter sports grew popular in the country. As of 2020, Heilongjiang province had the highest number of ski resorts in China, followed the western autonomous region of Xinjiang, and the province of Hebei. The southern province of Fujian had only one ski resort, due to its warm climate.
