In the fiscal year of 2022/23, China had 19.83 million skiers, whereas only 12 million people skied in the fiscal year of 2014/15. Although skiing became increasingly popular between 2014/15 and 2018/19, the number of skiers declined substantially in 2019/20, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
