The volume of natural gas running via the pipeline Nord Stream from Russia to Germany stood at zero as of August 6, 2023. Prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the flows were measured at nearly 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours per day on February 23, 2022. Nord Stream underwent maintenance from July 11 to July 21 and August 31 to September 2, 2022. On September 5, Gazprom shut down Nord Stream for an indefinite time period for maintenance, allegedly due to an oil leak.
