In 2021, over 12.9 million people aged between 25 and 34 were employed in Mexico, the most numerous employed age group in that period. This represented a 23.4 percent of the total. By contrast, workers aged 65 years or more made up for 5.2 percent of the labour force. That year, the adult employment rate in this country was below the average of the OECD bloc.
