E-commerce purchases in Israel 2020, by age group
The e-commerce industry in Israel has been developing quickly in recent years. According to a survey, in the 3rd quarter of 2020, 77.6 percent of internet users in Israel aged 35-44 had purchased a product online in the past month. This age group had the highest share of online buyers of all the age groups, followed by Internet users between the ages of 25 and 34 (72.6 percent). The E-commerce verticals are diverse and include fashion, food and beverages, and electronics. Israelis usually purchase products on international and Israeli websites, and the online retail key websites Ali Express and Amazon are also very successful in Israel. Projections showed that the revenue of the e-commerce sector will increase from 7.55 billion U.S. dollars in 2022 to 11.83 billion U.S. dollars in 2025.
Successful fashion e-commerce industry
In 2022, fashion constituted the largest segment within the E-commerce sector in Israel, with 29 percent of the general market share. Apparel was Israel'smost successful online fashion sector in 2022, with sales worth over 977 million U.S. dollars. The online fashion industry in Israel is more reliable on international sites such as the Chinese fashion website Shane, which is popular in the country. However, fashion companies with physical stores like Zara and Delta also successfully sell online in the Israeli market. According to estimates, the revenue of the fashion segment of the e-commerce market will reach nearly 2.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2027.
