The share of individuals identifying as part of the LGBT community has increased with each generation. In 2021, Generation Z had the highest proportion of LGBT individuals, amounting to 20.8 percent of respondents. Comparatively, only 2.6 percent of the baby boomer generation self-identified as being LGBT.
