The expenditure of foreign tourists making wellness trips to Hungary peaked in 2018 at 8.3 billion forints. Due to the restrictions introduced because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this figure decreased to 1.9 billion forints by 2021. Figures improved over the following years and reached 2.8 billion forints in 2023.
