Share of people visiting friends locally for Ramadan Africa 2022, by country

In 2022, a survey conducted in the selected African countries found that an average of 84 percent of people would spend more time with their friends in the local area. The countries with the highest share of respondents were Egypt and Morocco. In these countries, 87 percent of people claimed they would spend more time visiting their friends locally. Furthermore, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and the holy month of fasting. It begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent moon.
