During the reported period, the sales value of plant-based meat in Italy decreased from approximately 123 million euros in 2018 to just over 111 million euros in 2020. In 2020, the most popular type of meat alternative among Italian consumers seemed to be plant-based meals (e.g. burger patties, nuggets, sausages) as the sales value was highest, reaching 98 million euros.
