As of 2022, the total number of public hospitals in Turkey amounted to 915 units, up from 908 recorded in 2021. The country's biggest and most populous city, Istanbul, had 54 public hospitals, while the number of the public hospitals in the capital city, Ankara, totaled 36 facilities.
