As of the last quarter of 2023, nearly half of all health care professionals in Mexico, including physicians, nurses, and other professionals specializing in health, worked in doctor's offices. By that time, approximately 29 percent of these health care professionals were employed in psychiatric and addiction treatment hospitals, whereas less than ten percent worked for general hospitals.
