T-Mobile dominated the 2022 spectrum auction in the 2.5 GHz band, as expected due to it holding large amounts of this 5G spectrum, yet it won as much as 91 percent of all the licenses available, purchasing 7,156 out of 7,872. The only other company to win more than 100 licenses was the North American Catholic Educational Programming Foundation with 107 licenses, and the subsequent winning bidders were all relatively small companies, as the auction was designed to make it easier for smaller companies to win.
