In Portugal, the highest number of feature films was released in 2018, reaching a total of 404 movies. In 2020, an approximately 38 percent decrease was recorded in the number of released movies. The year 2021 brought a slight recovery with three more movies released than in the previous year. In 2022, film production almost equaled 2018's values, with 393 films released.
