In 2021, box office revenues increased by 48.5 percent compared to 2020, reaching 30.6 million euros in ticket sales. In 2020, the Portuguese box office revenue was at its lowest with 20.6 million euros in ticket sales which can be easily explained by the lockdown introduced because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2022, box office revenue continued to increase to 55.4 million euros, still not reaching the pre-pandemic values. By 2023, revenue reached almost 73 million euros.
