In a 2021 survey, mobile network operators (MNOs) and device manufacturers were asked what benefits they saw in using or offering embedded SIMs, or eSIMs. The top answers among all respondents were relatively evenly agreed upon, with the top benefit being easier access to global connectivity at just over 14 percent of operators and manufacturers naming it. The simple set-up of eSIMs came in a close second at over 13 percent, followed by the ease of switching MNOs at just over 12 percent.
