According to a survey conducted in 2022 in Italy, about 81 percent of respondents believed that following a vegetarian diet was a personal choice to be respected. About 42 percent of respondents believed it was an admirable choice that protects the environment and animals, and about 26 percent wanted to adopt such a diet but feared they would not be able to put it into practice.
